ArtMart - Sold Out!
Zeitraum: -
Personen: Simon Häfele, Lorenz Seidler, and many more.
Beschreibung: Especially for the exhibition ARTmART Simon B compiled his first artworks who are thought to be sold. Until this point he refused the idea of doing art which could easy be sold on the art-market. The sharing and exchanging approach of the ARTmART exhibit inspired Binsh to this first edition. With the usage of the old-fashion medium of photography mounted onto the very expensive commodity aluminium he reflects the way of how and what kind of artwork would possibly sell in the given framework of an art-fare on an selling-exhibition taking place in a white-cube style museum in a well known metropolis in the wealthy centre of Europe. The pictures themselves are showing documentations of a performance and of a installation Simon B made in Belgrade 2004. More detailed information on the two highly conceptual works are going to be published along with the Photographs.

The works are called "Hidden Embassies" and "Square Museum" and are to be seen together.

and Aspects.

Hello. My name is Simon Be.
I am a foreigner living in estonia since 7 month.

At the very beginning I want to ask the english speakers, to translate to the persons next to you during my reading.
I will read slowly so you can to do it.

Today, I did invite one of your police officers. His name is Tanel Tiks. I think he is a national hero. He helps people if they are in danger. He doesn't want to come, nor want to talk with me, he told me on the phone.
He scared me. I think, he is scared of me too.
All this doesn't matter. It's about that woman. ONLY!

No, it has not been war! It's been a wonderful, fresh winter night in the year 2007 in Tallinn, Estonia. The temperature has been fallen under minus 15 degrees centigrade.
This is the beginning of a fairy-tail.

A good old friend, named Nikola Uzunovski, was in town these days. After two years we were really happy to see each other again. Ideas and opinions, thoughts, energies and feelings where swapped forth and back.

Eero, Erick, Thomas, Riika, Daniel, Kirke, Laagle, Jaan and Aura are first-names of people who played important roles during my stay in Estonia. Some friends will stay longer, some won't. Nikola already stayed long enough in my life to directly introduced him to my local relationships. I brought him over to the flat of Eero and Thomas behind Baltijaam. A bright light, a shiny fire of words and discussions suddenly inflamed the atmosphere. Eero and Nikola slipped into a information spinning laptop-party. Plans for new art-projects and city visits were laying in the air, like the heavy clouds of a ancient time smoke sauna.
Riikka smiled the whole evening form one ear to the other: For a couple of month she waited patiently and now the beauty of love was hitting her again like a stroke, like real hard slaps, into the the face. "Lucky Riikka, lucky you!"

On the way home, Nikola and me got lost in the confusing streets of Tallinn's old town. Walking and talking we finally found back to Viru Street. With fast steps we passed McDonalds, taking the sharp right turn into Valli street. My straight view made people appearing like shadows recognized only by peripheral sight.

Two on the left. One on the right. The sound of motorcars.
Behind us, a door: "Click". By turning my head a tick into the direction of the "click", re-recognizing the shadow on my right, seeking eye contact I've been looking straight into the face of a 35 year old woman. Her facial expression is the one I'm not having any words for. It was silent. Nothing but the exchange of sights: Nikola, the woman, me; again the woman.
"Turning around?", "Go straight ahead?"
Milliseconds seemed to last longer than the life of the earth. Milliseconds to decide. "But this gaze. THAT GAZE!"
She twisted her wrist so i could see the hands. A black tight string where holding them together on her back.

Suddenly it was clear: Now things had to go very fast!
The responsible guys could come out of that door in every second. She had no other answers to our questions but her shivering. The expression of absolute pain and helplessness has been written into the gaze. She was not able to move one millimeter, not even able to cry.
In the lights of the car, of two girls parking 25 meters away, we could see the full range of the disaster:
The women had been beaten up, like i've never seen before. The blood was smeared all over the face. I got fear.
I wanted to run, but it was impossible to leave her behind.
We had to get her out!

When she recognized, that the girls made a view steps towards us, movement came into her body. Step after step we slowly walked until the car. Here it seamed more secure as long as the guys didn't have guns... It was a horrible to see the helpless hands tight with that wire of the cellphone-charger.
I couldn't open it, but Nikola managed. He gave her a coat.

The police had been called since minutes. It seemed like hours. 10 minutes of freezing, 15 maybe 20. One police car was passing by at the main street. They didn't stop. Our waving didn't help. Talking to her, did not help either. However, she was in a total shock, and the only thing i could do is putting my arm around her shoulder like a friend.

The rest of this disaster I will not write down in it's details although for me it was even more scary and very, very ugly.
Two days later this hyper-unfriendly policeman, Tiks, took our most personal information. He took my DNA while i was trying to resists that hardly. He threatened me with the violence of state and his own fist. We helped that woman and the police doing their job, and therefor we got registered in a DNA Database?

For me that is a clear sign for the side of the authorities:

DO NOT HELP ANYONE ANYMORE OR WE REGISTER YOU IN THE INTERNATIONAL DATABASE OF CRIME AND TERROR: YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE STATE KNOWING IT (AT LEAST AFTERWARDS).

IT THAT THIS NEW "FREEDOM" OF WORLD's ORDER? I CALL THAT TERROR TOO, BUT AGAIN:

ALL THIS NOT NOT TO BE SAID, COURSE IN THE END IT IS ABOUT THIS WOMEN. ONLY!

IT IS NEVER EVER ABOUT GENRAL LIVING CONDITIONS.

HOW STRAGE IT IS, OUR BRAVE NEW WORLD.

Thanks for your attention.

Sadly Simon.

ONE ENJOYED ONE FREE, ONE PRIVATE DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SPECIAL PRO-TEC-T-ANT

Personen: Simon Häfele
Beschreibung: Performance-Massage at "CUMA#2" in the scope of "Port Performance" and the "In-Graphika" Festival Paernu Estonia.

Description of action: Since the opening Simon Häfele is dressed like a security guard and is standing around. After a while he went to a corridor. At the end is a door with a sign “private”. The door is blocked with big wooden rods. He enters a tiled room with a massage-bed in the middle and says - only for few people hearable - “freedom”. He makes some pullups on a rod and dress up his trousers, jacket and shoes. He selects three people and check them like captured thiefs. He choose a man out of his “prisoners” and asks him for to lay down on the massage-bed. After he starts to give his “victim” a one hour massage from the head to the toes.

Ego Shouter Version 006
Zeitraum: -
Personen: Simon Häfele, Jaan Toomik
Beschreibung: Ego-Shooter Version 0.06

is the most personal work i ever created. Inside the self-portrait-sculpture you can find more then 2 decades of emotions, fears, anguishes as well as happiness evolved in my past. In order to create this work i wrote long personal letters about my childhood to my father and mother who are representing any of my good and bad properties of my personality. In a perfomative act i shot bullets through the objects and the pictures showing my 2 parents, myself and a supersonic picture of a foetus.

This symbolical erasing of strong influences on my personality arouse out of day by day experiences as well a childhood, teachers, friends, other family and society members and environment made it possible to me to mentally start over.

The pictures melted into a semi-transparent sugar cube where destroyed by the use of a AK47 machine gun. The performance took place at a cold-war soviet military airfield in Happsalu, Estonia 2006. Birth, parents and myself together with pain and death as parts of human live are appearing wrapped by the sweetness and tender seduction of the daily existence. Sugar as one of the basic chemicals of any cellular form of being is, bend into small particles surviving even it's distortion, the killing by weapons of mass destruction.
